Yeah, Yeah, I know it's on notebook paper...get over it!So, yeah, since I got to use that camera I've been talking so much about, I figured I might as well post the first picture (and only, as of now) I drew of L from Death Note. This is from episode 27, "Silence", where L dies.... T-T

The shading is very excellent and you do well in conveying the expression on L's face. I hated that episode...I cried for hours.
Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto's Manga-ka) actually shades using mechanical pencils and varying pressure. That may work a little bette if you wanted to improve. I usually use a lot6 opf lines in details when I shade. Find the technique that works the best for you

I sometimes use mechanical pencils if I want that scratchy look, but, if not, I usually just shade with the side of my pencil.

Okay I looked again and I was drawn in by the shading you did on this. Extremely well done as well as the folds in his shirt. That looks good too.

Line paper. I think I used that when I was in school. . . .lack of other paper.
I like the hair a lot. Its a good study sketch which are very useful in learning.
