Deco, thank you for not giving up on Miku yet, I've listened to Ghost Rule more than 200 times since it came out, like I'm not even kidding here, I can prove it holy shitΒ
Also Photoshop practice because I managed to borrow a drawing tablet and I'm like yaaaas
So I wanted to try out a new style and I figured I'll probably never be able to make this kind of edits once I give it back until I have my own, hopefully
Sorry if it looks kinda crappy, I'm still getting used to this thing hhhh

I'm going to tell you a story... I burst out on r/Vocaloid for this song just because of how crazy DECO*27 is and called him "mentally deranged"... After six months, I've talked with the mods to issue my apologies but they ignored it because I have stated my regrets on my original post.. For now, I stopped listening to newer songs because I still feel "traumatized" of how shockingly disturbing this fandom have been...

As starter pack you'll get a critique from me, because why not, improvement is No.1 remember it.
So, where do I begin? It's a lovely piece. Very lovely. I like the posing here really, really much. But facial work could've be done better. It looks ok, but could be better. At least only eyebrows, MMDC tends to forget about eyebrow expressions.
Background is interesting, but some texture would be a nice idea here. It doesn't have to be super visible, but still. It looks a bit flat. However, I like the pattern very much~
Hair. Hhh I used to make hair that way, so I can clearly tell you what's wrong here, even if you don't really see it: making the hair look THAT detailed isn't a good idea, when you use a model that is more ,,flat" when it comes to colors and facture. It's like..it's like you'd be drawing a face and made everything look really simple and then BAM, DETAILED NOSE. It doesn't look good. And the lack of highlights makes the hair look like Miku didn't pay any attention to them in all her life, they look damaged. Try to make them look less detailed, but detailed in the same time. It's hard to get an effect like that, but it's totally worth it!
Shading. Bby, light is very important in every art piece. I see you applied shadow on Miku's hair, great, but it has to affect the background too.
So yep, I hope it'll help you in any way, and have fun with Photoshop - it's a great graphic program after all!

Oh wow, first of all, thank you so much for actually taking the time to write down all of this! It's very rare if I get an actual critique and feedback so I'm gonna try to work on it!
The pose is really simple except for the fingers so there's nothing special about it, and also the facial expression is simple, but to be honest there are quite a few different small morphs merged into this, I always try to use at least two morphs for each section, but I think my problem was that I was trying to stick too much to the original picture, so I'll take note of that!
Oh, thanks! I didn't know what to do with the background since most of it is covered by her hair in the original picture so I had to improvise!
Yeaaah, I get what you mean, I tried to keep it simple at first but I just couldn't make bigger, thicker individual strands work so I gave up and tried to make it work this way, and since it was looking "kinda good" I just continued because I was really happy I was at least getting something decent haha and making highlights is definitely something I have trouble with and I have to work on it!

I just got a tablet recently myself! Been pretty frustrated with the learning curve, but this magnificent masterpiece of yours gives me inspiration to keep going! That shatter effect on her hair ties came out amazingly! I'll have to check out Deco's new song now!

It looks like Miku is either having a mental breakdown/hallucination or something just exploded. It looks a bit disjointed and almost sort of off-putting. So I like it, this kind of messed up theme is perfect. Unless if you were aiming for something else, in which case it's an accidental burst of artistic awesomeness.
