just wondering, when you draw your characters, do you draw them naked first and then put the clothing layer over them last? Or do you just directly draw them with the clothing on? In alot of guides I see, people seem to make some sort of "model" of the character naked and facing different directions + posing in different positions before adding the clothing, so I thought that might be the official way to draw characters.

Yeah, I always start with a naked model sketch and then I add the clothes on

oh, I feel kinda bad for bugging you so much lol but if you really don't mind then would you tell me what you draw with? I'm assuming you use a touch screen sketchpad with a stylus? Since drawing on a laptop/desktop with a mouse would be really inconvenient. I also heard of touch pads with a stylus that are attached to a laptop like a usb drive, but are those as accurate/easy to draw as a sketch pad? And what brand is the one that you use, do you think the accuracy or the stylus matters alot?

No problem at all, don't worry. That touch screen sketchpad with a stylus that you mention, it's a wacom cintiq.. the most expensive and more professinal tool to work with, but I do not own one of those, I just own a normal wacom tablet intuos (you can google it). Those stylus attached to laptops to draw on the screen also work, but not as a specialized too like wacom tablets. Oh yeah, the brand is Wacom, average tablets are not expensive and I recommend you to get one. Hope this was helpful
