I see you are using Google Sketchup like

( One question - I know it is Fiction, but why would a Navy use a Land Tank? )

quick question, for the edges, do you have a special way to make it seem more natural?

to get edges that clean you need very tight and i emphasize very tight bevels.

this is beveling.
[link]
it adds a smoothed edge to a model to give it more clean appearance. the tighter or less pronounced the bevel the more sharper the model will look.

I see
Its not like smoothing the model then?
making the model appear smooth?

no beveling actually compliments smoothing. By beveling a edge the smoothing of the model is made less defined. beveling also in a way helps a model retain some of its intended shape when smoothed.

this is sample texture for hull: [link] (the actual size is 2048x2048). In 3dsmax UVW unwrap got option for auto generate UV. I use it to generate layout and the edge of layout is edited in corelpp/photoshop. To get a nice touch of metal edge like in image, use motion blur + image sharpen

hey hey hey www.wings3d.com try that instead of 3DSMax. Its more designed for beginners and when you learn the basics you can move back up to 3DSMax.
