Description
The Tesla class battleship was a next generation United Terran Accords battleship that entered service in the 0460s that takes advantage of recently developed advanced combat AI technology. The ships was largely automated, being mainly commanded by one or more tactical AIs or uploaded minds with its designers envisioning them as flagships of vast automated drone fleets.

Clocking in at almost four and a half kilometers long, the Tesla like many other UTA Battleships, is primarily designed for forward facing fire power with its main armaments of a Cykro Lance and four duo and two triple Ion Cannon turrets all positioned for optimized forward facing firing arcs.

The ship's main drive setup also reflected this with its six forward facing antimatter drives being almost as powerful as its rear facing propulsion systems, allowing the ship to maintain range on a enemy while still able to fire all its big guns.

Although a extremely formidable warship it was not without flaws, which many have attributed to the political climate and corruption within the UTA millitary, with several members of the design team having been bribed by various corrupt arms companies. Ultimately these flaws turned out to be rather minor with most being fixed in later refits during and after the UTA Civil War, with the primary problem the ship faced being politics.

Although after the end of the Xollos Succession war many within the UTA viewed the development of AI and transhuman technologies as a necessity for the UTA's and by extension humanity's survival, there were many factions that opposed this notion, in particular the Luddites who viewed AI as abominations and Conservatives who were opposed to any kind of reform adopting these technologies might bring with them.

Due to this the ship only saw limited production with only a small number of fleets possessing them prior to the outbreak of the UTA Civil War. During the war most of the ships fell into the hands of the CyTerrans whom drastically ramped up production of the vessel with plans on having it replace the Jupiter III class as their main line battleship.

The ship would serve well after the fall of the UTA and into the era of the United Terran Cyberocratic States with its design lineage clearly present in many post war UTCS ship designs.
