Note: This AU is themed off of the idea of Halloween and of the creatures associated with it. Though the idea of Halloween is based off of religion, no said religions are to be depicted nor viewed upon in any negative or positive ways. Anything relating of religious symbols are only based here for the sake of the story. Thanks for the understanding.

The protagonist of Hallowtale.
Keep in mind that, though the player is seen as neither male nor female, I see it is this way to leave it up to the player which gender Frisk is. To me, Frisk is female and will be seen as so through this AU.

At the very beginning, Frisk is dressed as an angel for Halloween, she being the 'fallen angel' of the story when she descends into the underground. As the starting question of what kind of angel she is, is left up to the player on which route is to be taken. The genocide route leads to the found items are pieces of a priestess outfit, the pacifist route leads to the found pieces of a witch outfit.

Genocide
You are filled with Perseverance and Determination.
"No matter how hard it'll be, I'm more than determined to 'save' them all."

Going with the idea that all monsters are unholy and must be slain for the sake of the light, Frisk, being influenced and later possessed by Chara, acts out in the 'cleansing' of the unholy beasts. Upon dusting each encountered boss monster leads to finding the different parts of the priestess costume: Priestess cloak, Priestess robe, Sash, Priestess boots and Locket & knife 'set'. Or in the monsters' eyes, 'Angel of Death.' The more of the outfit you gain, the more monsters will fear you and even become more aggressive and distrusting. But in this route, that doesn't bother you, you are determined to take on such a difficult task to 'save' these pitiful souls by killing them with kindness. Kindness, being the name of the knife that you (or more so Chara) has given the very blade, thus the green soul-shaped gem within its hilt.

The 'Trick' of the question.

Pacifist
You are filled with Courage and Kindness.
"it takes true courage to be kind to monsters."

Unlike the genocide route, more happenings are to be discovered in the pacifist route. Unlike genocide, you decide to keep the pumpkin bucket that Sans gifts you in your first meeting, it being your inventory throughout the run. For each boss monster you spare, a piece of the Witch costume would be found: Witch's hat, Witch's garb, Bat Winged cape, Witch's boots and Witch's Broom. With the broom equipped, you are able to fly around on it, allow you to cross deep water and dangerous gaps in the path. As your weapon, you own nothing but a stick, this being your witch's 'wand' of which you're able to cast very weak 'spells' with. The more of the witch's outfit you obtain, the more trusting and friendly the monsters are towards you, opening the door for far more interactions from them and allowing you to activate more fun and entertaining events.

The 'Treat' of the question.

In one of Frisk' and Sans' first conversations does Sans ask you this serious question: trick....or treat?
It has deeper meaning than what you originally are let in on, and depending on what you choose will he begin his line of judgement on you. What you do through out your journey will his final judgement be the reflection of your heart.
