The difference is that the fluffy dragon was in a well-recieved heartwarming movie and has a chance at leaving a small impression in popular culture, while the feathered dinosaur hasnΒ΄t been featured in a single movie yet and will continue to be ignored by popular culture for the next years.

Dude, a fluffy dragon ain't a dragon. It's another case of 'hurr durr reptiles can't be majestic hurr'. Scaly dinosaurs and dragons are literally the only reptiles that people think aren't vermin.
