Appearance >

Forecaster is a dark green dragoness, with white sloth-like markings on her face and a green-black SandWing sail dotted with stars. Her wings feature a gridded pattern like a star chart along with the usual Nightwing stars, her horns curl forwards and one of her ears is pricked up while the other flops down. She always wears a brown leather jacket with a colourful patterned lining, adorned with studs and spikes, handmade patches and painted slogans.

She has a stocky build, with a square jaw and deep chest.

Forecaster carries herself with a raised chin and confidence bordering on arrogance. She doesn’t walk, she swaggers; she doesn’t sit, she slouches.

She talks energetically with her hands, though her right arm seems to lag behind slightly and she tends to favour her left. With her jacket off, it’s clear that this is due to a deep scar on her right shoulder, deep enough to slightly affect the musculature there.

At this school she learned to form a mind-block, and took extra classes to learn rudimentary methods of managing her mind-reading. The Cortex Quartet
The Cortex Quartet is made up of:
Schooner (PC, 1cyfeathers, Nightwing/Sandwing hybrid)
Muddle (NPC Nightwing/Mudwing hybrid)
Brightmind (NPC Nightwing)
Forecaster

The four of them live in the junk shop together and form a kind of pseudo-hivemind using their mind-reader-to-mind-reader telepathy: they read each other’s minds constantly and they’re beginning to look a little weird from the outside, since after a year or two of doing this they understand each other so well they basically never disagree, and seem to have been influenced somewhat by one another’s personalities and memories they’ve overheard. When they’re separate, their differences are more apparent.
They don’t have much privacy, which frankly isn’t particularly healthy, but they’re all happy enough and since they’re essentially unable to bottle things up, they haven’t had any major issues or strife in years.
Through the Quartet, Forecaster has specifically trained her mind-reading over the years to cope with larger numbers of dragons at once - though at the cost that has not practised so much with resisting the influence of strong emotions, nor detecting nuance or subconscious thought.
As long as the group is within range of each other, they can hear one another and have a mental conversation all together.
