Description "It certainly seemed to be the cave from my vision. I could hardly mistake it, with the rim of the entrance shining in the sun the way it was. Alina was quite impressed as it came into view, and she ran up to investigate the faceted crystal that formed the entryway. I don't think she's ever seen anything like it. I know I hadn't before I was chosen and sent on my journey. Kelneir seemed a bit less impressed, I suspect because he's seen so many frozen caves in the mountains that it just looked like one of those to him.
I stepped in ahead of them, leaving Alina to examine the unique cave's maw and Kelneir to watch for any monsters. Thankfully, they both realized that me going on my own was a bad idea, and I soon heard their footsteps coming up from behind me. As I turned to greet them, planning to assure them that i would be fine, I could see their faces shift; Alina's assuming a look of shock, while Kelneir's gaze hardened from his usual disinterested stare into one of intense concentration. I knew those looks.
Diving aside, I narrowly evaded the claws of the beast as they smashed into the crytalline floor. I heard the wind whistle by as Kelneir threw himself at the wyrm, speartip flashing, the light reflecting all around us. As I rolled to my feet to ready a spell, my vision was momentarily obscured by the translucent wall of one of Alina's protective spells. My vision clearing, I raised my rod and channeled my will through it, sending a burst of flame at the beast that now blocked our path.
Even in that moment, in the back of my mind, I realized it.
This was not in the vision.
This was wrong."
