He;s kinda being inaccurate too (the only time Luffy only peeped about wanting to fight when it appear there was no other option but back down immediately after Nami took care of Zeus.)

Also if you hadn't notice is that luffy was only willing to fight once in that due to percieving no other choice but immediately back down when Zeus was taken care of.
