this is a piece i finished in art class about a week ago. i'm doing a series of pieces that deal with mental disorders - this is the first one, depression.although people with depression don't really show much on the outside all the time, the pain inside they feel is probably unimaginable. i think we should all take care in what we say and do
time: 20+ hours
materials: design ebony sketch pencil (<3) and prismacolor colored pencils

I really love it, especially the way you drew the eyelashes. They appear to stick together realistically, as if still wet from tears.

I've been looking back through some of my own (rudimentary!) sketches and writings on depression, and when I found this it screamed out at me. It's a haunting but wonderful portrayal of the turmoil of depression. I hope you're art keeps on growing in beauty.
