Oh indeed I am doing this. I will do this with all the ponies. Maybe I'll even do this with the rest of the mane 6.
Here's a little FlutterDash... heh heh.
I had to hand-make that mane, so it might not look exactly perfect, but I think it looks very nice and accurate enough.

As far as the mane-trick goes, though, I say that Rainbow Dash learned a few tricks from Pinkie Pie. This is the sort of thing I'd expect from Pinkie Pie... although knowing Pinkie, she'd probably somehow spontaneously generate Pegasus wings and/or a Unicorn horn for her imitation as well.
