Description

*Grumble grumble grumble. not my best, blah blah blah* lol

In all seriousness, it's been about 8 years since I started getting into Xnalara and later, blender.

Eight years and I feel like I've learned the most within the last three. At least when it comes to rendering itself. Although the years before that I wasn't as active either

I could give this long speech about how I started out and what lead me here, but, looking back, it's a wonder I got here at all lol. Just glancing at my older stuff, ugh, I cringe super hard and think to myself 'how the hell did you think THAT looks good?'.  However I suppose in looking back, it's the only way to see how far we've come and the more I do think about that, the more I come to continuously greatly appreciate the help that got me here.

SO since this is December and the last month of the decade, I've been feeling nostalgic, doing a lot of thinking and reflection. I decided to go on and take a look at my oldest works and see what I could do with one or two now as remakes. I settled upon my very FIRST ever picture. www.deviantart.com/xholyxlight… . Granted, it's not a remake of my first 'render', and I don't have the exact same source materials as back then. Also, it's kind of ironic that I'd remake a 'beginning' picture, right at the end (even if it is the beginning of the month lmfao) but why not?

The downsides to this of course are the lighting. The original was in Xnalara only so there was next to nothing to work with there but with a blender render, the lights were much more easier and yet I feel like they could be.... better? The real scene itself never had a huge light source to begin with and I remember thats what I was trying to recreate back then and what I wanted to do here. I lit up the parts that were actually lights and tried to give it some kind of 'world' light but with the scenery itself, including quality, it only went so far. In my head, the way this is lit up is because the car that comes around the corner in the OG scene is off screen here.

Other than that, I think it looks nice for a blender render and I definitely see the differences between then and now. I'm happy with the way Aerith turned out ^_^

I hope to continue to get better and learn new things in the future.

well, I didn't want to go to rig heavy. if u think I need to. I can give it a full 100 to 145 bone rig for the dress. ^^ also i love the render u done. u capture that opening moment. a moment that forever lives on in all of us that enjoy FFVII ^w^

thank u. I custom sculpt her face, off pictures from the trailers. to make her face as faith to how it looks now.

i child the dress bones to the right/left knees so the dress would flow how it does in the game. then just child them to the pelvis.

the render is perfect. I swear I could hear the music playing as I look at it
