Description "HAVE MERCY upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and
loving-kindness blot out my transgressions." Psalm 51:1

Yes, this chapter deals with those unfortunate sins in our lives that makes ya wanna run for the hills, or bury yourself alive...whether it be in thought, in the flesh or it can also be related to others sins. Whatever type of sin you've done recently, first you must---repent. Second, remember that God is merciful. Instead of running away from Him after you done wrong, run TO Him and ask for forgiveness. I know it's not always easy to do because the guilt is ripping you to shreds, I know, but Psalm 51:2 says~ "Wash me thoroughly [and repeatedly] from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin!"

Third, if you're born again specifically, remember~
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:1-6

Become a slave to righteousness.

Well, what if you don't know God? Are you tired of holding the guilt? Do you want to be forgiven of your transgressions? Good news for ya. God became a man (Jesus Christ) and because he loves you so much, he became a sacrifice to sin--- (yes, that includes every dirty sin you can name, all of our struggles, all of our guilt, all of our heart break,) He died, and rose again so that whosoever believes (with your whole heart) in Him will not perish, but have ever lasting life. (see John 3:16) Come to Christ as you are. If your heart is broken, this is the absolute best time to give your heart to God so he can repair it and change your old ways.

Be blessed.

Keep them in prayer...and be careful as to who you call friends. It's good that some atheists and homosexuals are nice, but don't be deceived. "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful" (Psalm 1:1).

You're SO right. I've always been a Christian but when I started studying my Bible every day and trying to live more like Christ, you'd be astonished at the number of "friends" that started dropping like flies. They couldn't handle my new-found righteousness and while I would never claim to be anything like Christ, I was a lot better than I'd been before and they hated that. They'd say "You've changed," and they were right-- I had, for the better. I couldn't handle the way they were living in sin and in some of their cases, reveling in it, so I cut ties with them. It's a good thing, too, because they never cared about me anyway.

GOOD! That's great! God is showing you who are your real friends, and real enemies. I, too, experienced the same thing. When I began to preach here at DA, I lost soooo many 'friends' and even family members. It will happen, but don't fret. God will appoint saints in your life who you can commune with. It may not happen immediately, but it will happen if you stay close to God. Some days you may feel like you're alone, but you're never alone with God.

This scripture gives me a lot of hope when I feel 'lonely', "27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14). In fact, the whole chapter of John 14 is a great read.

It was a terrible session of years. I recently read up on the Dark Ages...since so many of the catholic factions are claiming that the very church was the catholic church.

Not sure about that. I still have to read up more on it to get the real facts.

This is beautiful! Very nice use of Scripture! I wish I knew more people like you who believed and fought so bravely for Gods word. I REALLY admire that! I too believe in Jesus Christ and believe that all People deserve to receive Christ as their father, I find it sad that they just pass by the entire meaning of life
The thing I really love about Christ is that he's ALWAYS willing to be merciful and forgive people for their sins no matter how bad they messed up an he's always there when you need him! keep doing what you are doing! the world needs to learn about God, and keep the faith like you are! God will give you the strength to prevail

Entire comments section is one huge .

Live and let live.

People who create pornographic material can still be decent people so why do things like their art or photography judge what kind of person they are?

People can believe in god and take great pride in their beliefs without having to force them upon others.

So maybe there is a god and an afterlife and the devotion to said god will determine one's path in the afterlife, but why should the AFTERlife matter? I think that if people are kind and generous and try their best to do good in life than their beliefs should not matter until they come down the the possible "ultimate judgement". I mean, if everyone has to spend their lives being judged by god then why should we waste so much time judging eachother.

I'm bad at arranging words into sentances so I'm sorry if that made no sense >_<

After life should matter because there is a Heaven and a Hell. Hell is where God pours out his wrath on sinners; Heaven is where his people will forever be in the glory of God.(The unrepentant)

A person can be as kind as a sheep, but a nice behavior is fruitless if the person did not (or refuses) to repent of his sins.

There is such a thing as a righteous judgment, and a hypocritical judgment. Any one can righteously judge. (judge correctly such as pornography is dangerous, or the wages of sin is death) To judge hypocritically is to expose the sins of your brother, and ignore the sins of yourself, or to just go on hating on people for their faults. THAT's hypocritical judging.

There are a lot of bad things that people do. I'm here to tell people that there is a way out of any bad obsessions and that is through Jesus Christ.

But what I'm saying is that if those things come AFTER we're all dead, why can't we just see people for who they are in life?

Like I said, if we're all being judged by god in death then why should we judge eachother throguh life if out judgements of a person will not matter in the end because god's is the ultimate?

Why not just enjoy life and the (many) decent people on this earth and just let what happens in the afterlife happen?

Xiao-Fury In reply to GutsOpossum [2010-01-05 01:22:44 +0000 UTC]

When we die, we will meet God and He will judge us. A person is hell bound if they are not covered by the blood of Jesus i.e., does not have God's Holy Spirit.

We're not guaranteed tomorrow, but according to the Word of God, the wages of sin is death, and the gift of God is everlasting life through Christ Jesus. (see Romans 6:23) A person can choose where he will be after death, if he believes that Christ is Lord, and that He died and raised again for our sins. In other words, the person must confess that he is a sinner, and Christ is the only way to save his soul from total damnation.

We should judge each other righteously because there is such a thing as right and wrong, AND...righteous judgment is an act of love. If you know that a person is making a wrong choice in life, then it is wise to tell the that person the truth of his choice. In all honesty, allowing a person to make a bone head choice is a sin...especially if you're supporting the bad choice. Yeah, so that is why it is good to make a righteous judgment...other wise, you'll fail...and failing sucks.

To your last question---it's because I don't like the idea of people going to Hell. So, I tell them the truth about life. If they don't listen, then there isn't much to do---but I'm not going to stop preaching just because a few people will not listen to the truth.

And when I involved religion more often in my life (I was Catholic, so my beliefs didn't stray too far from your own), my life only got worse. It is hard to pray to a god that will not love, so I just stopped.

Well, sorry 'bout the trouble you encountered with Catholicism. However, I'm not part of any person's religion. I'm a Christian; Christianity is not a religion---it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Oh, and...what do you mean by intolerance? I'm intolerant to plenty of actions...especially if its sinful.

The-Writer0 In reply to Xiao-Fury [2009-09-07 03:53:42 +0000 UTC]

My point exactly. If you've started feeling this way because a Christian tenet (read: law) spoke of God's distaste or hatred of it, then I believe that a God that can hate is not an all-loving God.

And I always thought Catholicism and Christianity were the same o-o

Xiao-Fury In reply to The-Writer0 [2009-09-07 04:39:10 +0000 UTC]

So are you saying that God is suppose to love evil actions? If God loves evil, then he's not ALL loving. Understand that God is HOLY, supremely just; He can NOT commit evil. He HATES evil. So, when evil starts to have its way, God will deliver justice. God must be intolerant to sin and so must his disciples.

It's simple really.

I'm sorry for interrupting the conversation but I would like to see your point of view on what you said just now... if God hates the evil, then why did he create it? Let's not forget that there was no 'evil' at the beginning - there was only word. He showed up and created it, along with rules of what to do and what to not do. I personally don't find this fair - if He wanted all of us to be happy, He didn't have to do that. What do you think?

Xiao-Fury In reply to Angevelinka [2009-09-10 13:02:27 +0000 UTC]

I say he gave us a free will. God didn't want us to be robot towards him. He gave us the freedom to choose Him or to not choose him. It's all fairness in the end.

what's fair about knowing already whos going to heaven and hell? why even create the sinners then? i mean, if he created us with the choice to choose him or not, would he really be surprised when people didn't choose him?

Xiao-Fury In reply to BimboCrittenden [2009-10-17 05:12:11 +0000 UTC]

God is all knowing. God didn't create humans as sinners. Sin reign down to all humanity after Adam and Eve were deceived into eating from the forbidden tree. They made the choice to listen to satan even after God strictly forbid them to not eat from that tree.

Now, can you actually complain about having free will? Would you prefer forced love i.e. rape? You're free to do what you want, but the bottom line in life is this: "I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants," Deuteronomy 30:19

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BimboCrittenden In reply to Xiao-Fury [2009-10-17 21:37:31 +0000 UTC]

i never complained about free will.
ur logic is hilarious. u first say that god created humans with the choice to deny or accept him, then you say he didn't create humans as sinners. if they deny god, they are sinners. by giving them that choice, he already accepted that he'd be condemning many of his "children" to hell. what the fuck kind of sense does that make? why even create humans in the first place?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Xiao-Fury In reply to BimboCrittenden [2009-10-17 21:45:10 +0000 UTC]

You are complaining. Weren't you just asking on why did God give us a free will? You should be grateful. You're using your free will to complain right now! lol (not that complaining is a good thing, but I find that kind of funny imo)

Anyway, it's not confusing. Humans are responsible for the choices they make. The angels in Heaven are free to choose as well. Now, if you don't like the idea of free will, then you're free to act and behave like a robot...although that would still be a choice.

Angevelinka In reply to Xiao-Fury [2009-09-10 13:26:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, that's true. But I still tend to disagree - by giving us free will He restrained Himself from making us robots, all right. So he can't make us not go the wrong path when we choose the wrong one, he can only give us signs or warnings to not do something. But, being the almight God, he KNOWS that some people will fall and will rise to the good path and some people won't. he KNOWS that some people just will choose at some point the way of evil and that they will die not regretting their sins and so on. That sounds like making a possibility to condamn some people even if at the beginning some were pretty good and didn't deserve that, etc. By making this rule He allowed that. I still find it pretty unfair.:/

The-Writer0 In reply to Xiao-Fury [2009-09-07 14:24:30 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps I was unclear. I meant that if God can hate a tangible, singular being, He does not love all of them like He claims to. Things such as sin and evil are not singular nor physical

Xiao-Fury In reply to The-Writer0 [2009-09-07 16:46:09 +0000 UTC]

If God hates a person, then there's a perfectly just reason. Everything God does is good whether we understand it or not. Besides, God's thoughts are beyond our thoughts.

The-Writer0 In reply to Xiao-Fury [2009-09-07 18:03:08 +0000 UTC]

But it still defies the concept of a God that loves all living beings. Jesus Himself even said to love the sinner and hate the sin.
