I had a bunny not so long ago...
I had him for, I think three days, when I decided to give him a bath. I got home the next day and found him dead. I'm blaming myself for the bath idea.

No, the civil service is a substitute for that. For people who for some reason or another don't want to go to the army. You work in civil institutions (mostly social ones) for one year and get hardly any pay. I dislike the fact that the state forces you to work. For me, there was never really a discussion whether I should go to the military or do civil service. Still, it was a year that I wasn't free to do what I wanted. In this sense it was wasted. And since I didn't even directly work with people in need (I spent my days in front of the computer or running errands for my bosses), it wasn't satisfactory at all. Now I feel better, and it looks like I might get a nice part-time job as a language teacher and can finally finish my studies on the side.

yes its a good idea what you do. not the civil service part, though. would you rather be working with the poor and the destitute or...i don't know..epople in need or something? its a noble thing to do, i think
