Bump maps make all the difference! Just imagine the level of detail from around the cockpit everywhere else.

For the engines I'll be taking inspiration from the LotV cutscene Void Ray model 's engines rather than the in-game Phoenix— that was my plan all along.
Though the model isn't based on the StarCraft Field Manual's artwork, the artist had some great concepts for paneling and seams to look at, basically a much-enhanced detail pass over the in-game model. Sadly he seems to have deactivated his deviantart though, it used to be in my favorites over here , so I'm keeping my hard copy out.
