Great idea to take a photo of breat and butter
It reminds me of French breakfast by the way.
However I like the colours which are Fitting each other.
I'd just liked the photo more if you focused on the bread in the foreground instead of the Background.

my constructive criticism is that the image is a bit burned and the butter is not at all prominent in the picture.
i know some people would like that the upper part is too white, but to me its "blindingly white" and hard to watch. about the butter, from the title i was expecting a cube of butter, and seeing the packets was a bit of a let down.
tips: on canon, after taking the picture, hit the arrow-in-a-box to show the picture, than zoom a bit out to the picture-data-and-histogram-and-little-thumb-in-the-corner view and in the all the burned spots should blink. second, im all up for not intervening with the scene, but try to keep the title so as to not build big expectations.

Thanks! I'll keep all that in mind and learn from it. The shot is a little blurry as I was holding my cam and not using a tripod in a very dimly lit restaurant. I've improved at hand holding my cam for longer periods of time, but I'm going to keep at it.

If I could do this again, I'd probably bump the iso up to 200 or 400 and opt for a shorter shutter speed. Again one of those things you live and learn from.
