I don't think people are supporting Nazi ideology with this piece, but the artwork and characters themselves. Would it be better to show the allies firing weapons? History is written by the victors, and nothing is inherently right or wrong.

Well,to be honest, I think that killing millions of people just because they had the wrong religion, sexual orientation, different political ideas or don't fit into your ideal world in some other way is pretty much as wrong as you can get.
I know it's been done before in history, but that doesn't make it right.

I really don't want to come across as trying to tell people what to say or to draw and what not.
Yet I'm also aware that in many parts of the world that weren't quite as involved in European bit of WWII, the person of Hitler and the Nazi-Regime aren't really so well known for all the atrocities that they caused. So I'm just trying to remind them what kind of ideology actually considering to be 'cute' or 'cool' in this picture.
And well I wanted to express that, as a German, reading stuff like 'Oh cute, a Nazi-Gilbird!' just feels a bit strange to me. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well, I don't see anything about genocide in this picture. While the Nazi's did commit genocide, this picture is about World War II, which was not started /because/ of the genocide, nor did it really have to do with the genocide. I don't agree with many of the things the Nazi's did, but I think it is unwise to view them as wholey wrong. There are some things in their regime that were positive, and many that were not. Nothing is wholey wrong or right, it's all in ones perspective. One person may lose a debate and be villainized, another might do the same thing, but winning the argument, be a hero. Every army is both an army of enemies and an army of heroes, depending on who is watching.

To each their own, I just wish the world would be less... partial? A world with no black, no white... just a perfect gray area. It'd be a better place then.

Well sorry if I was a bit unclear here - but I was mainly questioning comments like 'Oh a Nazi-Gilbird! How cute!' and the choice of this DD. Not so much the picture itself.

I actually agree with you, that this world isn't black and white. But I also believe that in case of Nazi Germany we're speaking about a reallyreally dark shade of grey here. When you say they also had parts about their regime that were positive (whatever you mean by that) you should always ask yourself on how many peoples life these 'positve' things were based. How many had to be disowned, deported and killed to finance their war, or the building of the highways and all the other little benefits for the accepted part of the German citizens. And how come other countries accomplished the same things without killing millions of people for it.
I had already typed down some part of my family's history, to make clear, that I know too well that know all germans of that time were the stereotype villain Nazis. But you know what - out of respect to the artist we really should stop this argument under this picture. I questioned some comments made, you pointed out that maybe I've been a bit too harsh. I think we both made our points clear, but I also believe that from here on this would turn into some endless discussion on who has the right point of view. And I think this is not really the place for it.
