Not everybody figures that out, though. That's the sad part...they look at these "tutorials" and think that copying what other artists do line for line is going to make them draw better or teach them something.

I'll be honest, I used to think that too. But as it got harder to do that stuff I got frustrated and just tried doing stuff myself instead of what other artists do.

You hold your pen the same way I do! (If that was your hand you were studying. ;D)

Some minor constructive criticism from a random deviant...
The first hand (top left corner, above the hand w/pencil) the hand in red (guide) looks amazing, the actual lined hand seems a bit awkward... Idk. It's the ring finger knuckle coupled with the line from the flexora digitorum that runs over the fourth metacarpal (the tendon that runs from ring finger into wrist) makes it look a little strange. But over all, very well done, and FAR superior to my hand drawing skills. Haha! Kudos to you!

I think you did perfectly well on the Kamehame-hand! You seem to have good control over hand drawings

Hand study definitely catches my attention. Absolutely love the way you first sketch out your hands. It makes me think I should practice more.
