Description
A model designed for Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. for their new line of Cyborg gaming products. The look of the Cyborg had to fit in with the key design elements of my R.A.T model. This model was built using subdivision surfaces in Modo.For more renders seeing more details check out my CGSociety gallery.
This has been published in Ballistic Publishings Expose 8 full-page on page 163.

Figured it to be like a fibre glass srot of material. Could be thought of as metal with a fibreglass or plastic outer shell. To be fair I didn't knopw too much about shadig when I created these so it wouldn't surprise me if it is a plastic with too much specular making it have a somewhat mettalic feel and it definietely being a non physically based material.

Yea, I know. Cyborg is the name but it's not a cyborg. Cyborg is the brand this character was made for, which relates to the interaction between the humana and the machine.

Lol, I see, but I'm just saying it doesn't seem like a cyborg to me.
Seems more like an Android cause a cyborg is a person whose part man and part machine.
Whether it's mostly machine, or mostly human.
And yes they called the Terminator a cyborg, but he was really an android with an authentic skin suit.
But then again, it was the 80s and the word Cyborg sounded really cool back then xD
But yeah, the picture is really cool, just the title was misleading for me :3

Sorry about the spelling mistake. It was supposed to say human. And I was agreeing with you that it is not a cyborg. I was explaining why the title says Cyborg even though it's an android.

Well it's not animated (moving), yea it is 3D work. A simple modelling tutorial and shaders tutorial, plus something going over HDRI lighting, and you will have all the essential skills to be able to create this.

Nice picture! My little brother has the Cyborg F.L.Y. 5 Flight Stick. He got it about 3 weeks ago, I'm guessing. I myself want the R.A.T. 7 Mouse, and I'm pretty hopeful that I'm going to get it. Wish me luck!

I see what you mean and agree. But I would have added mass via plating, but wanted to see some working areas. I guess the joint of the bicep into the shoulder could be much larger, beefing up the whole area. Ah well, maybe next time

the detail, the two toned face, and the almost skeletal nature around some parts. very nicely done. the pose is neat too.

Hi, this is by far the coolest android ever and i was hoping you don't mind if i use this as a pathfinder character (future setting). The concept of my character basically is this guy but was once human. he was a wealthy, law abiding citizen that was turned into a weapon of mass destruction by forces unknown to him (game master knows the rest) and know works for "the resistance". if you've seen 'equilibrium' than this will make more sense. please and thank you for the great work and permission

character concept:
Godfrey Hughes was part of a wealthy family in equilibrium, he took the drug, fallowed the law, and was average in every way. he married a wealthy baroness but unknown to him, she worked for the government on an experimental weapon against the resistance. this weapon was supposed to be a mindless machine but the baroness quickly realized there was mo way to control "the damn machine" and volunteers were in short order, the solution, put a mind in the machine. Godfrey, being "loyal and stupid" as the baroness said would make the perfect 'candidate' for the experiment, thus he and his wealth were stolen to create "the perfect weapon". the android's shell was molded from ceramics, steel, and titanium, gyro's, rotor's and piston's made the 'muscle' and finally, the mind, Godfrey's brain, memories, and emotions were downloaded into a chip so the machine would not go berzerk, at least not on them. Godfrey, now known as "EX-02" was born, equipped with latest technology the government can offer, including an experimental "rage-program" to boost the reflexes, durability, and strength of his new form. the armament of such a beast had to be not only monumental for his size and strength, but practical and durable in an enraged state. the answer was melee, though suicidal for any human, in this new form EX-02 was unstoppable, and formidable in all respects. the weapon of choice for this monstrosity was the sword, as a human, Godfrey appreciated the elegance and grace of the sword. now, it is just a means to end life. it took the resistance much time, energy, and patience to bring down, capture, and reprogram Godfrey, after he had destroyed a main facility and killed many resistance fighters by his greatsword alone. after the initial shock and realization of reprogramming and therapy, Godfrey joined the resistance to not only regain his memory, but gain the trust of his new found family.

Great story. With the description at the end, I can see why you thought me Cyborg character would fit the bill. For me to do a commission, you should send me a message so we can discuss the cost and details of the robot and format you desire.

thank you, I'm very new to this part of the process so please bear with me. I'm going to be very honest, I've never done this before so i don't now how much to pay you and would like some input on this. i don't now formats so I'm at your mercy, and how much/what kind of details would you like? sorry if I'm not useful on this. i can't spend to much on this because i don't have much and Christmas is on the way, the most i can spend is roughly 50 to 60 $$. sorry if that's to little but it's all i can spend for now. i will be eagerly awaiting a reply.
