She's likely just taking apart an old chunk of Technimal data storage cubes for archiving.
Once important data has been moved, that material is better off elsewhere or put to use in different ways heh.

I wonder what would be within the important data, like, would it be information on the history of how the Technimals got to where they are now?

If the origin of the archive is from a time of the first ones of them waking, then it's likely that the data in that archive are of first research expiditions through the ice or from the near-surface places of their planet.
Even if things are more researched, it'd still be a big thing of curiosity to see how much the data differs and what they have discovered additionally. The first Technimals focused a lot on exploring their homeplanet rather than traveling through space. Even if outdated, this kind of data can still shed light on things the more space oriented Technimals may have missed or forgotten. Not everything in the beginning was perfectly set up, so an old archive cube frozen over and left behind by a long gone expedition force is a posibility. Long talk and theorizing aside, yes! It can very much be a stepping stone to see history progress of Technimals.

She wouldn't deconstruct things without reason. Could be old, emptied archives that are to be used elsewhere!
Technimal technology is modular, so it can easily be pieced together like a puzzle with different function and form.
