Description
Katya, 27
Born and raised in a small mining village just on the outskirts from the mainland. Her tallness doesn’t bother her or the other villagers’ children. She lived a pretty normal life. At the age of 25, she married to an army lieutenant and was expecting her first child the next year. But it was only short-lived when Germany launched Operation Barbarossa, an invasion of Russia.
Her husband immediately answered the call but never return. Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, crying, prying day and night but all but a wasted effort. Her husband was considered dead and the body never to be found. Katya, a widow.
September, 1941. She’s already 7 months pregnant. The story about her husband’s death is still fresh in her mind. Trying to forget, she works in a small farm collecting cows’ milk.
Thing gets more trouble when a group of 10 Nazi soldiers, led by an officer, entered the village to do some ‘searching’. They started to separate the villagers by groups based on their documents. Katya and a few others were told to board a truck, while some were forced against a wall.
Knowing what’s going to happen, she immediately grabbed the mp40 from one of the soldiers and started blasting. This was quickly followed by the others. The villagers fought back. Don’t have a gun? Mining tools will do. Being a wife of an army soldier, she’s never easily back down nor does her tummy slow her down. It was a total bloodbath.
At the end, all the soldiers are dead. But things are also not so nice to the villagers; most of them are dead or wounded since they’re not army trained. Same goes to Katya, she’s badly wounded. Panic for her and the child, local doctor do anything to stop the bleeding. Being a small mining village, not plenty tools to treat such injuries. Katya survived, but not her child. It was a girl, a baby girl. She got her father’s eyes.
Sad, heartbroken, depressed. Her whole world crumbled. Angry and full of rage, she sold what’s left of her properties and used it as a ticket to sign up into the Red Army.
There’s not enough time. After short days of training and quick preparation, she then got sent with the others to support the troops in Stalingrad.
To her, this is not just her fighting in a war. She’s on a revenge spree for her late husband.

About Katya
Katya can be called slightly assertive towards her comrades. Sometimes a little bit stubborn. She got the I’m-not-your-friend type of face, angry most of the time and almost looking down at others. But, that’s not it. She can be overly assertive and angry but sometimes her motherly instinct kicks in and gives support to her fellow comrades. She can be cheerful, having victory drinks, and give speeches to boost her comrades’ morale. But, nothing gives her a bigger grin than during a battle.

SN42K1 Steel Breastplate
Because of her size, they think she’ll be an easy walking target for the enemy. So, they gave her a spare SN42 steel breastplate, a broken one, of course. As expected, it’s still not fit for her. So, she gave it to her local blacksmith back in the village to do some adjustment. She knows she’ll be wearing it for a long time, so it’s gotta be total bulletproof.
The standard SN42 steel breastplate is made of 2mm steel, protecting the wearer around the chest and abdomen area. The improved SN42K1 added one more steel layer into it. Also added shoulder pads, protective arms and also the back. This armor can stop low to medium caliber bullets at that time. It got a nickname “The Valkyrie Armor” amongst the people and the enemy. Some also called it “Stalin’s Steel”.
Despite the improvement however it had some drawbacks. It limits the wearer’s movement. She still can do light run or kneel, but vaulting something big is nearly impossible.
In one fight, an enemy’s Pzb39 (Panzerbüchse 39) anti-tank rifle got a direct hit on the upper left chest around the heart area. The shot only left a small dent. Russia’s weapon expert said Katya is considered lucky because the shot supposedly went through the steel. But, the people believe this is the sign from God that nothing can stop the Red Army from advancing and reaching for victory. Hence the nickname, “The Valkyrie Armor”. Katya is not the type that believes such things but she sure will be careful next time.

Her Demise
1945, during the final days of the battle of Berlin. After been in many battles, her armor started to show some malfunctions. Everything started to fall apart. It slows her down. Katya thought it'd be a good idea just tossed the armor aside. And she did. Armed herself with her favorite DP28 and some mags and grenades, she led the charge with 50 or so soldiers behind her back, storming the Reichstag. First floor, second floor, they fought courageously.
When they started to enter the top floor, a bullet from an enemy sniper, shot straight towards Katya. A direct hit to her chest and went through her heart. Katya fell and died instantly. No medic around but even there’s one, nothing they can do. Katya, the hero of the Soviet Union, has died.
Her name was carved on a stone after a war was over with other names. It reads:
Katya,
A Vengeful Widow,
Fought In A War,
Died As A Hero,
May Her Soul Rest.

Flaws
Her one major flaw is that sometimes her taste for revenge really gets her into many troubles. Like for example the moment when she got shot by the anti-tank rifle. She just marched into enemy fire without knowing the enemy placements. Also, she’s a bit stubborn. She often doesn’t listen to direct orders and does her own and gets scolded by the higher-ups.

Beliefs
Katya is the type of person that values loyalty and caring but still stays assertive in a way. She sometimes can be impatient. She can be the one leading the charge. Doesn’t care what happens to her as long as she gets what she wants; total revenge and victory.

Likes
Before the war began, she loved cooking for her late husband. She also likes to celebrate an event. Before the war, like a dance night, birthdays. Now, celebrating victories. Vodka is her friend at that moment and when she’s absolutely drunk, she’ll dance till she passes out. In other words, she just loves vodkas. She likes to give comforting and uplifting speeches to her down comrades. Of course, moaning some Nazis with her DP28.

Dislikes
She absolutely dislikes incompetentness. When she wants something done, she expects to be done. Other than that, she doesn’t like something getting into her hair like debris or being kept unclean. It reminds her late husband how he likes to stroke her hair across his fingers. Since then, she always kept her hair nice and clean. When the war breaks out, there’s no need to keep it clean all the time. Just make it tidy.
