I have just started trying out the gradient mesh tool in illustrator. I think it's amazing and I really like the final result of this image. As you can see it gives the overall character much more depth. Should I carry on drawing like this?Related content

I definitely like it! Makes it look all shiny ^u^. However, maybe not for this picture? I'm no artist, I don't know; I guess it depends on whether you want something simple or whether it should be more detailed...

if you want depth, definitely do the gradient mesh. personally, for jewelry and what have you, i prefer the flat colors. i like the depth for pictures though.
