A little bit of both actually! When I first sat down to sketch him out, I had one idea in mind: I wanted to bring out the other, non-tragic side of Hawke. The part that we all love about Hawke: the friend, the lover, the son, the older brother, the person you can depend on. As much of a shit place Kirkwall can be and despite the tragedy, I feel it holds a special place for Hawke.That's what I tried to convey in this. Thank you for your comment!

That came out nicely then! I think it's his home, as much as it can be, and that's another part of his life that ends in tragedy - I think Varic's protectiveness toward Hawke in DA:I is a nice nod at how much DA2's storylines cost Hawke too

Agreed! I have many feels for Hawke, which is why he's my favourite character and why I keep drawing him over and over again.

I like reading fanfics exploring his personality and his relationships with the rest of the gang / Kirkwall - especially when he's a sarcastic idiot :')
