Gotta agree with Skaramine here but  maybe just this one was abit too smooth with shading but other than that everything else is just perfectly sexy (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄

Very interesting model here.

First-off, the curves are very well done here. She has wonderfully huge circular curves that make her very very sexy, and I love her curvy hourglass form.

Secondly, the linage is impeccable here, all the outlines are very smooth and precise and there's a good mixture of thicker/bolder lines for her outer frame and thinner/lighter lines for details between those.

Third, the details are nicely done here. There's a good variety of supporting bits for her various curves throughout and it really adds a lot to her overall.

Fourth, the color is quite good here. The flat color part is a good color choice and doesn't have an visible flaws. The shading is a nice touch and does a good job of giving the color more depth as it were.

Also great job on the wings, that's something I often have trouble with on dragonesses but you seemed to have mastered them.

I'm fairly sure I've seen this model done by Barn Flakes before, different colors maybe, but same idea.

Some suggestions:

***Sometimes when I do dragons I like to have a few of the teeth sticking through the smile line, gives them more of reptilian look (like a crocodile or alligator) and can be cute too when done right.

***I would recommend more interior "jagged" lines on the hair, just to kinda give it more of a sporadic looking texture (like hair often has).

***I typically do more detail lines on the nostrils, or make the lines thicker, just to kinda give more depth to the nose snout that dragons often have.

Overall, great image you have here. You do a great job with dragonesses and your art looks very practiced and refined.

Hope to eventually see more from you. Awesome work!

oh well thanks for all the compliments im truely flattered ^^ also thank you for the points its much apreciated
suggestion wise i only as you stated stick out some lil teeth on my crocodile OC tho i havnt drawn her on DA or FA as have i not with a lot of my oc's
im not realy the best at more jagged spontaniouse lines considering i use my mouse to draw and ajust all lines manualy prety tediouse thats why i dont draw requests that often anymore xD

Of course, you do a good job, good submissions deserve a good comment once in a while.

Ah, I like the teeth sticking out because it gives them that "reptilian smile" which kinda makes them look cute, but also a bit mischievous/sinister too (like many reptiles do).

Ah, didn't realize you drew these all digital. Most people start with a sketch and then add lines over it using photo-shop or some other program. I can see why that would be difficult, you should consider a digital sketch pad if your any good at sketching via hand. (personally I'm not, I couldn't draw at all without a computer).

Good job though.

i also start with vague guidelines for example xizzdot.deviantart.com/art/wip… this is a bit of a cleaned up version removed most of the circles and lines  i used using a mouse doesnt mean i cant sketch however my mouse did stop working for some reason while typing this  o.o;

Hmm, interesting method. I suppose it's just unorthodox for me, every artist I've met so far has either used digital sketch pads or traditional sketching first.

It's very interesting, I'm glad you found a unique way to make things work. Clearly the results speak for themselves.

Anyway, excellent submission. I'll make sure and watch your page so I can keep an eye out for more.

heh i start with circles then guide lines just with my mouse and then use linetools to go on from there to get smooth round lines

my last submission was like 4 months ago but i have started working on something special of my oc's yesterday heres a lil sneak peek of that xizzdot.deviantart.com/art/Sne…

Interesting procedure, though I suppose I've seen other types of guidelines done prior to final sketching. Usually the way I see it is major junction points (arm join, leg joints) are done with a basic head outline (one circle for skull, rough shape of head over that), then a sketch of the character and the rough curves with no detail is done around that.

I suppose you do something similar, though your circles seem to be based on some other scheme.

Anyway, looks interesting. A lot of artists do light a height comparison, it can make for an interesting side-by-side total reference of all your OC's.

Should be nice when it's finished.

heh im just making this ref so i have a ref of all my oc's i keep misplacing my refs of my ceperate oc's cus im un organized this is just a way to make it easyer for myself xD

i also do circles for joints n such but on this project i didnt know in what poses thay would be yet so i just made the basic posture i wanted em all to have in the form of circles(chest, belly, thighs) (so i knew thay would all fit on the canvas and so i knew what size thay where)

i image rp a lot and i almost never use guidelines in that anymore i guess its just that i drew thease charactrs so much i know there forms and no longer require guide lines to draw them i just still use it for digital DA/FA art cus it makes for much cleaner forms and is easyer to determine what goes where without too much fuss

Bob---Barker In reply to XizzDot [2014-05-19 20:17:38 +0000 UTC]

Ah ok, I keep a "characters" folder. Then I have a file for each of my OC's, then sub folders for sketches, Inks, then expressions and movements respectively. I used to just keep it all in a long list, but that caused too many problems and needed dire reform.

Yeah, the only guide lines I typically use are really geometric type ones. For example when I do a square and I need to position something in the dead center I draw in two diagonal lines crossing it from each corner and then mark the intercept point. Though most of the stuff I draw is a lot more "blocky" and square. Whatever method works for you though, it seems to produce good end results so it would be hard to argue with the process.

I should probably use more character guidelines honestly, often I'll construct each scene individually and then "eye-ball" the perspectives of all the props and characters and their relative sizing to each other. Sometimes this works well, other times I get kinda a weird looking scene.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. Interesting seeing the processes that go into the artwork.

heh im unorganized my refs are spread across like 6 folders so its hard to find the right folder i realy gota organise a folder with folders in it with the name of each of my oc's and in those folders i put al my refs for those oc's but just too lazy xD

np x3

Yeah, I tend to re-organize things every once in a while. Part of my nature I suppose, being a tad bit OCD. Just find a system that works for you (including that sketch).

Thanks for chatting.
