Description
Tawny FrogmouthThe Australian tawny frogmouth is often mistaken for an owl due to their nocturnal habits and similar colouring.
When it sits in a tree, it is very easy to miss seeing as they look just like a branch. They stay almost motionless.

Indeed, it melted completely into the landscape.
You had a good eye to notice it and captured.
Great photo!

I had a couple of wild ones as pets...they weren't caged. They were quite happy to adopt my verandah and a stick to stand on.

We had one in school once. The kids were fascinated by it! It was quite happy to stay in a tree.
Must been wonderful to find them on your verandah. I'd love to find them here. The only place I've ever seen them is Queensland except the time one came to school.
