Description
The Rainbow Lorikeet has a bright red beak and colourful plumage. Both sexes look alike, with a blue head and belly, green wings, tail and back, and an orange/yellow breast.

The Rainbow Lorikeet mostly forages on the flowers of shrubs or trees to harvest nectar and pollen, but also eats fruits, seeds and some insects. A group of rainbow lorikeets can be heard with frequent screeching and chattering.

This photo shows a pair of lorikeets out the front of my place on the top of a dead tree fern. They started to dig it out, but changed their minds. You can see the green tail of one sticking out of the hole.
