I think the pictures that they put in between the chapter always hold the meaning. For example, this picture tell us the feeling of Ashley who believed that Leon is a knight in shinning armor.

I always loved the artistic approach Capcom took with the "between chapter screens" in RE4. It's a shame they didn't continue that in 5 and 6...
