It is the girl with the traveling swamp! Name escapes me right now......all of Mushishi's episodes were so breathtaking and they always got you contemplating something. I felt really sad when the swamp had to die. D:

Yes, it is the swamp girl, Io. The swamp dying was sad yes but the episode taught you that it was necessary, that from death new life can begin, so in the end it was a good thing.
