Thesis Statement
Represented in different ways through history, the ubiquitous nature of the human form makes its beauty easy to overlook. Structured with bone yet covered with a vulnerable flesh, the figure emerges with a sense of power harbored with interactive shapes and colors. Through painting, it breathes and interacts on the canvas, bringing life to the paralyzed state of geometry and color. The stagnant whites permeate the clustered chromatic instances of excitement, amplifying visual and conceptual contradictions.

Haha, i'm glad you liked that. I actually went back and reread my statement, brings back memories. Artist statements are so fullfiling most of the time, especially when they are a part of a really personal series.

Oh yeah! I went through 4 years of art school. And if it wasn't someone else's artist statement that sucked than it was my amature self that had a shitty one. I'm just glad that i'm past school and I know my resources to writing a good one.

Yep, that is pretty much my deal. If my reference can keep me intrigued till the last moment it definitely is a " i think it's pretty!" sort of a deal. But it also has to do with how mysterious something is and for how long it will keep me guessing until i get disinterested. Which usually doesn't happen until long after I complete a piece.

But your stuff has such beautiful abstraction! The parts missing create a whole more intriguing than the original... and that being a part of the mystery (to me) of how you get so much out of so little (lines and color)... Basically i think of it a little like this:

Well thank you, it really is like solving a puzzle when i'm painting these. Like Jenga, every color plays an important composition balancing role. Super fun
