Description
This story is based on an actual event that happened in the past. This comic is for all of the gamers who were scarred by such incidents and accusations.
Long ago, my friend was once accused for using an aimbot due to his skill while playing CoD Modern Warfare 2 back when it was popular.
Though, he was able to get back on his feet after he showed his skill in front of the many who had disbelief in him.
Similarly, this comic is dedicated to the Korean Professional Overwatch player Geguri (nicked named Frog).
Some of the comments in the scene where D.Va was harrassed were from actual comments that were used to attack Geguri.
I am devoting this comic to my friend and Geguri and those who were falsely accused of the same problem: cheating.
P.S. the reason why I set Starcraft 6 as an FPS game was because it was pretty unpredictable to what would happen to strategy games in the future,
so I decided upon creating something that would corrolate to what actually happened.

That's honestly too realistic. One guy claims some rival was cheating, and it spreads like wildfire. Can't make it better that everyone will just focus on the fact that she's female.
But how the heck would she be able to cheat during a Starcraft VI tournament? Aren't those computers set up by Blizzard? They'd obviously be able to monitor if anyone were illegally downloading aimbots

*A person makes a comic about going to the store for ice cream, without a single plot twist or suspenseful moment*
"You're aware this is based on an actual thing that happened, right?"
"You're not the arbiter of what constitutes a contribution."
"if you dont have anything good to say be quiet, people like you makes anyone to be discouraged in their work FUCK YOU"
"There's no topic not worth talking about."
These people are hurting the artist more than I am. By failing to provide constructive criticism and just laudingΒ them with total praise, they are not giving the artist the vital TRUTHFUL feedback they need to improve, to learn what works and what doesn't, and focus on what DOES so they can develop into a better and more successful hobbyist.Β All of these people are very similar to the company employees that constantly praised the CEO and executive of the movie rental company BlockBuster, telling him that "everything was fantastic" and that "there was nothing wrong about anything." So the CEO kept going without any changes. Then BlockBuster went bankrupt.
It's great to have praise, sure. But that's only half of what an artist needs. They need tips on how to grow.Β Never let praise cloud your judgement.
This isn't your best work. But I really like D.va as a character. And I know that you can do better. I look forward to seeing what you will do next.

First, bot influencing the artist is different from hurting the artist. Sure, getting constructive criticism is preferred, but getting praise doesn't negatively impact his art or writing.
Second, while I can see your point, and you're in your right to dislike this comic, telling someone that you think an artwork was "Unnecessary" is almost as bad as leaving hate, because there isn't left anything constructive. While it's more an ideology than anything, I'm under the belief that an idea is always above criticism. You can critique the execution of an idea, you can critique how it's represented, and you can critique it for having a negative impact, but the Idea of an artwork is untouchable. The Room, as you know, is a horrible movie, but the most basic idea, the motif, if you will, had potential to become a good story, like any other idea, Tommy Wiseau is just a horrible twat. If you want to critique something, critique the execution, not the idea, like, say, "Great comic, but the use of aimbot would be impossible during a tournament without Blizzards knowledge". That's touching the way the idea was represented, not the idea itself

As a D.Va main, I can't help but love this. That stick to the character.
That could be cool toΒ have it canon.
Great art btw.

I have absolutely no knowledge about anything to do with the current competitive gaming scene or any possible drama that might be occurring within it, but it's a well drawn comic that I enjoyed reading nontheless, and sends a decent message, so I can't really complain. Good on ya m8

i think this is exactly the kind of comic a lot of people need right now, especially with overwatch ranked starting up and already there's a lot of toxicity in the community. Β thank you so much for making this!

Hey man I like your comic but as someone who has played Starcraft I have to tell you that there can't be any aimbots in Starcraft because the way the game is played, there an aimbot is useless. Starcraft is an RTS which is much different than Call of Duty. There are ways to cheat the game through scripts that automatically do stuff for you like constantly create units even if you don't have buildings selected or automatically make a stalker blink back when it is low on health. Starcraft doesn't even have a reticle like you said which would effectively make an aimbot useless. I appreciate the message you are trying to send but PLEASE do some research before you make a comic about a game you aren't familiar with. A simple google search would tell you that the games that you used in this example are extremely different.

She's playing Starcraft 6 in the comic, not the original or 2. Starcraft 6 is a shooter. Don't worry, easy mistake to make.

Not to rain on your parade, but this simply isn't worth making a comic over. There will always be "haters". If you can't take a few comments online without becoming insanely depressed, you're WEAK. The premise is even weaker in a black-and-white issue like "Was an aimbot used?" If there wasn't an aimbot used there's no point to any of it, they are just easily dismissable and unproveable accusations.
You have great potential for contribution to the community, but this isn't it.

This is a really stupid comment.Β You're aware this is based on an actual thing that happened , right?Β There were death threats involved, and two pro players retired in the aftermath.

You're not the arbiter of what constitutes a contribution. You do not get to decide what is worthy and what is not. You are also not the judge of who is weak and who is strong. And you're not an authority on what constitutes a good or bad premise.
Nobody elected you to be the authority on who is making a positive contribution.Β

There's no topic not worth talking about. If an author wants to express himself on a subject that matters to him then it's good. Maybe you won't resonate with it but other people will, and that's the point of creating a story and sharing it. You can't be the judge of what's worth expressing or not.

you're missing the point, being defamed no matter what the reasoning is and whether or not it is true impacts people after the fact, you're thinking too small. If you follow the league of legends scene you'll know Krepo was accused of being a pedophile and even though the accuser made a video saying he was lying it still negatively impacted Krepo's career heavily. You can't call Krepo "weak" when not only is he accused but his career is essentially ruined since he's now labeled as a pedophile to a lot of the public. People who are falsely accused of something they did not do are strong, not weak. There's a difference between your reputation/career and when your friends tease you for being bad at a game.
