Description The next stage of evolution for the starter line I posted. Here's the basic information on them:

Keleflage (Kelelesa, an Indonesian term for Chameleon + Camouflage)
Camouflage Pokémon
GRASS
"Keleflage are able to move with astounding speed and maneuverability, using their prehensile tails to launch themselves across the forest with ease. However, they're normally slothful and stay put for hours on end. Forest tribes believe they do so to keep their ever-growing minds focused so they can predict the future."

Pyrox (Pyro + Ox)
Fire Ox Pokémon
FIRE / DARK
"With tempers as hot as their flames, Pyrox are feared by people and Pokémon alike. They travel in large herds and terrorize the lands they visit, setting fire to forests and villages and trampelling anything that gets in their path."

Torrusk (Torrent + Tusk)
Fanged Deer Pokémon
WATER
"Torrusk normally live alone and hone their fang-based attacks all day long in the harsh cold of the north. If two should ever meet, they'll begin fighting using their fangs in an attempt to prove which is stronger."
---

Keleflage: Original name was Chambranch, but I thought Keleflage sounded cooler. With this next step in Kameeleaf's evolution, I wanted to hint at what kind of powers the final stage will be able to pull off. I'm sure it's obvious going by the description. And just so no one asks, Keleflage is just pure Grass-Type at this stage because its "powers" aren't really at a level in which they're usable in battle.

Pyrox: Original name was Pyroxen, but I dropped the -en because the name didn't really roll off the tongue. Sure, Pyrox is a little simplistic, but I still like it. Anyway, with Pyrox I wanted to show where the Calfire line is going - not another Fire/Fighting, but instead Fire/Dark. They're very mean Pokémon when they evolve, and its final evolution will really expand on that.

Torrusk: Not too much to say about this guy. It's a relatively simple step up from Fawng, but that's intentional. Overall the line evolves with reasonable differences (similar to, say, the Mudkip line) instead of huge design changes (like the Oshawott line). The changes are still enough to make them look acceptable as evolutions, though. :3

Do not use this artwork for anything. Thank you!

Enjoy.

Nice picture Xous!

And thank you for letting me know another Indonesian term for chameleon besides 'bunglon'... LOL, I'm an Indonesian and I don't know what is kelelesa X_X

And those designs are epic I also prefer reasonable evolutions like Totodile or Mudkip than drastical changes (like from Dewott to Samurott or from Combusken to Blaziken) ^_^

I'd still choose Grass at this stage, though a Fire/Dark starter would be awesome.
Honestly though, Torrusk makes me think of Cobalion. Not that that's a bad thing.

I completely love the idea of fire Pokemon! I didn't even realise the fire starters were based on Chinese zodiacs. The grass starter is very cool, running with the reptile idea, I like it. The water starter I feel could be better sorry. The idea of a deer with the likes of a turtle, crocodile, mudfish, penguin, and sea lion doesn't fit, doesn't seem powerful enough. Maybe a polar bear or a hippo? I know you don't do request but hopefully you can see the potential in those suggested animals for a water starter to final evo. But very good concepts, you have my support! -Steven

The Grass and Fire evolutions seem a bit too complex for a 2nd stage, look at Combusken or Charmeleon, extremely simple, same for Monferno and Pignite. These look like the last stage more than the 2nd stage.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FryGears25 In reply to amine999 [2011-07-30 22:44:24 +0000 UTC]

Agreed. However the grass one looks 2nd stagey to me. It reminds me a bit of Grotle. And its design doesn't seem too complex for 2nd stage. But the fire one diffidently looks like a final stage.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

amine999 In reply to FryGears25 [2011-08-08 01:04:12 +0000 UTC]

The grass one is SO complex lol, the reason you think it looks like a 2nd stage is probably because of it's size. He looks like a 2nd stage, but his details are DEFINTELY last stage. Even Torterra or Venusaur didn't have as much details as him. Neither did Sceptile or Meganium for that matter lol.

If you look closely, the water starter is the only one simple enough to look 2nd stage compared to the other two which are full of details.
