Even though it's been almost 3 years since I made the last ref, he really hasn't changed much.

I decided to go with a simple reference, because the last one was way overwhelming and didn't really make any sense. This one probably doesn't either, but at least it's prettier (though if you really really want to know more about his anatomy, [link] (here's the old ref). Most of the information there on the sheet itself, in the artist's comments, and linked references is still correct.)

Although he is a shape shifter of sorts, the reason why draw I draw him mostly the same every time is that this is what he looks like when Macaicu (main character of the story) first sees him. It's not a 'true form' or anything like that, though the basic structure of this form is more comfortable for him than some other possible forms.

When drawing him, you are welcome to change his physical appearance, or you can stick to something similar to this. Here I decided to add some scales and cilia like projections that I haven't included in other drawings. You can add scales, hair, feathers, spikes, or what ever little details you want (though hair is usually formed in clumps. If every little strand is formed, it will look like more like blue spaghetti than hair.)
