Meet Dreamy Daze. She's my pony oc. u v uShe's a sleepy pony who helps other ponies that have sleeping problems. Most of the rime she sleeps herself, though.

Actually it has to do with blood vessels and the capillaries and the hemoglobin's in the vessels. c:
In a way its alot like bruising.
The blood sometimes leaks through the capilliries, and your bodys natural 'mop up' system or whatever its called breaks down the blood cells to get rid of it so it doesn't cause any problems. When that happens though, the hemoglobins are broken down as well and when they are they turn a blue black color. Thats what causes the dark circles.

Overall though, I just gave her them because she's my ponysona and I have them too. x'D
