I basically sketched out the shapes, and then used layer effects to overlay patterns onto them. You can achieve the effect with the shadowed words by putting a 100% opacity 0% size shadow on the text layer, creating a new group layer with the text layer inside it, and putting a stroke the group layer.

My laptop doesn't seem to want to start up, so I can't remember exactly what all the fonts are called but when it's fixed I'll update this with the names of the fonts.

Oh, and the trippy colours are just various rainbowy gradients overlayed on top of everything.
