Ooh, flexible!
I really like seeing characters like this who manage to be athletic and fit, and also still attractive. So many of the times I've seen that artists attempt such characters, they tend to overemphasize the muscles and hard angles, and forget that female characters need curves. You have struck the perfect balance (pun somewhat intended) of physique and grace to bring out the most beauty in this type of character.
Excellent work!

Now this needlescale is fantastic!! The hottest legs I've ever seen doing a split! You gave her such cool proportions that are so rare to see in contortion, so it really looks like extreme fitness actually Beautiful work Ryu!!! <3

o.O Wow, you described it as I imagine the character! Honestly that was my intention with Rebeca, I think, after soccer, my favorite sport are fitness competitions. Such grace, talent and beauty in some contestants it's just *sigh* I really wanted to give her a strong body and flexibility at same level.

Yeah, fitness makes the girl's body look just...right! Very unlike McDonald's. I guess it's just how swimming makes for the most graceful male figure, fitness does the same for girls (I mean look at their legs alone!!
)
Btw, just found this girl at twist-me, who looks like she's right on the way to overcome Ivanka [link] - other than that I can't wait for Nadya's session in bikini, hopefully she'll consider one day (her galleries are on 3 paid sites already!! now that's a hard-working girl!)

Yeah, but payment must compensate her talent an effort
I don't know if the girl in the link could go further, I'm not sure if any human can go further, those must be the limits of the spinal column, more than that it's something I can imagine in artworks only.

Woo, I finally found that photo of a girl who actually went much further in a backbend [link] So I guess everything is possible if you add some hip flexibility!

yeah, she's amazing. I have a couple pictures of her somewhere, but i can't remember her name.
It seems she can break that limit actually!

Yes, she actually beat Ivanka I know that, I only wish I was there to watch that amazing oversplit competition! Though... I was much younger than Ivanka in 1990
By the way, I don't think any of Gerd Rasquin's pupils were ever famous for oversplits... best backbends in the world, yes, but I haven't actually seen a single oversplit picture from Mr. Rasquin.

I don't know, I've always thought if you are a contortionist with the talent to bakcbend at that level you should be abel to stretch all members of your body in the same way, I've never talked with a contortionist about that but that's the way i think, maybe i'm mistaken. Maybe Gerd Rasquin's pupils were able to do them without problem or maybe not. Anyway.... oh, you surely know this group, but here it is

Yup, I know that group and it just shows that Ivanka is a superb backbender, also the first photograph has been my favorite for years and I even tried to draw it once, though the style was not as good as it is today... Anyway, backbend stretching does actually only stretch the ligaments between the vertebras of the backbone, of course it doesn't automatically stretch the ligaments of the hip sockets, for instance many rhythmic gymnasts show great oversplits all the time but almost none of them (except maybe Nadya, Alina Kabaeva and a few others) show decent backbends.
And I have a lot of photographs of Ivanka and none of them shows a split over 180 degrees... I even clearly remember Gerd Rasquin saying at Picturama that he doesn't consider oversplits "real" splits and that a real split must put the legs on a straight line, so he probably applies this philosophy so none of his pupils are good at oversplits, or maybe he developed that "straight line" philosophy after losing the contest to Lisa Lavella

Oh, that destroys my theory :d
I do believe that exists many levels of flexibility, some of them from birth, other from hard training. About Gerd Rasquin, well, who knows what's the secret behind his training methods and goals.

Oh well, but that's already very cool, it looks very beautiful that way but if she went further, acrobatics would probably turn into sheer disfigurement

Hehe, I just noticed you changed her expression upon looking at it closer. The one you sent me looks as if she's really concentrating while this one looks like she knows she knows she's showing off and getting attention. It's those subtle changes that made a big difference. I love both of them! I really adore her eyes and lips, too!
