Well, this is my first post in, well ages, practically 8+ months, i had a long art block and disliked my art that i had practically stopped for that long (with a few minor sketches here and there, but nothing postable), but finally i managed to get myself together and draw something again. Anyway ill see if im able to draw more in future, but hey this is a start---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is rakka from Haibane Renmei, A little fanart i wanted to
redo, i had drawn a fanart of her in 2007, thats 2 years back, and i wanted to see a nice difference, so here it is, The original one i had done is here [link]
but yeah took me like atleast 6 hours, probably alot more, i lost track of time ._.;

Thanks, and uhhh @_@; im not really sure how do give you tips with it, i just look at heaps of tutorials and i try and figure out how other people colour their pictures when looking at them

this might be a weird thing to say but for some reason i think the right breast is slightly smaller... no matter how many times i turn my head o.o. other than that nice pic

Its slightly smaller because she's on a slight angle facing away from the front

i think you told that to one of the first comments right? but still if it's a matter of facing an angle shouldn't the boob farther away be smaller o.o

Don't think to yourself that you need to make masterpeices. Just experiment, learn and have a good time. The great stuff will come if you work for it.
Just try and relaxe.
A good start is looking at real life and try to figure it out on paper.

But if i dont aim high i wont get better as fast but i do relax (its not like a post a picture every 3 days or something) and i still have fun drawing now anyway, and thanks for the comment ^^

Aiming high is great! But just because you aim high doesn't mean you can't relaxe when you are practicing.
It's easy to say but harder to do, I know. But it helped for me just accepting that I make mistakes and instead of angsting about it just draw more and see what I can do to correct it next time.

It's neat and cute, but that's boring. The character seems to be as good as the accurate drawing style and the straight composition. But I think you should make your works more exciting by risking more. Why don't you make a devil version where you put more power into the composition? Your linework should become more vivid.

I can sorta see where your coming from,but i think i currently lack the ability to make something out of the ordinary and exciting like your saying.

I think you can do it, you just need to dare, to experiment and to practise. As I said, your work is not bad, but you could make it more interesting. Maybe you could start by working more conceptual? Compose curves and colors and find interesting arrangements, then try to use that for your characters. I have browsed through your gallery and I think this picture is your best work so far. You have already made a great progress.
