I know how that goes, man. The fact is, you're not crappy, you just need to push some more on your skills.

The best way to do that is to keep modelling from scratch and read tutorials. If you're interested, my offer to model props on Dark Glass still stands. It'd be a good way for you to improve your skills in something tangible.

Plus, you're not half bad at textures, so maybe that's where you strength lies. There's so many aspects to this gig, it's just a matter of finding where you're best at and working to your strengths

well I just finished the course that introduced me to 3D modelling,(not to say I passed, results still pending.)
but mainly I just fiddle with the colour settings, and use preset textures.
and BTW, rectently I started work on the original Dinobot's Sword and Shield. who knows, the may be useful to you guys...
