according to wikipedia it's italian for "to hell with you," and you're actually supposed to flick your thumb outwards against your upper teeth, but no I'm not really sure.

that's close
but actually it is English and originates from the 100 year war between France and England. What happened was that when English Longbow men were captured the French would cut off their thumbs to make sure that they couldn't hold a long bow or a sword anymore. So during battles the English long bowmen would mock the French men by biting their thumbs ad flicking them towards the Frenchmen. It was basically them saying we still have our thumbs and that they wouldn't be able to get them to chop them off.

The only reason I know about it is because we studied it in English class. Though if you ever get a chance you should watch the newer Romeo&Juliet movie starring Leonardo diCaprio, it is veeery good. And it's cool because it's set in modern times. And I'm glad you like my comic

Middle ages to me was the hardest I have
ever learned. I too learned it in English
class but I also suck at it because I always
fall asleep in class because you know it's boring.
