So have you guys seen the new Hobbit DOS trailer? I swear man, I died and went to Cumberheaven the moment Smaug spoke. Note to self: bring extra pair(s) of pants during the premier. haha I thought it’d be too much of a spoiler to hear him speak this early before the screening BUT omigod December couldn’t come any faster!In the meantime, here’s a little painting I did of Annatar (a.k.a. The Dark Lord Sauron) wielding the Ring of Power and The Witch King of Angmar succumbing to its evil. We all know Benedict is also playing the Necromancer in the Hobbit films. Idunno how Peter Jackson’s gonna portray him but I’m really excited about it and I hope we’re gonna see the White Council kick ass at Dol Guldur. PLEASE PJ!

So yeah, hope you guys like this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Not for sale at all. If I can get permission for all art used in the set (229 cards in all), I will post it for free access on Reddit (r/custommagic), simply for other people to enjoy. It's a set of cards based on one games rule/gameplay system (Magic), and another's storyline (Final Fantasy). Two nerd worlds collide, nerd fun results.

That's really impressive, the picture implies such a striking moment, and the contrast between his face and his smouldering, retched hand is done in the perfect spirit of Tolkien. That pic's worthy of a book by Tolkien describing this scene. Damn - made an account just to post dis shit

After seeing the Necromancer with all that fire around him, it looked a lot like the Eye of Sauron. Come to think of it, Smaug's eyes look like that too! That got me thinking! What if Benedict was Sauron in a past life?! Ben is the true master to the Ring of Power!

This is absolutely wonderful! I found it in the Sauronlock tag on tumblr but with no link back here, so I hope that was your tumblr and not someone stealing your art without permission. Anyway, I've been dying to see some art of Sauronbatch since I saw The Hobbit, and this delivers perfectly! I love, love, love the colors and the design of his clothes and just EVERYTHING about this! In fact, you've inspired me to write a fanfic that is a Sauron/Sherlock and Bilbo/John crossover instead of the usual Smauglock. It's going to be funny rather than serious, but hey...everyone has their strengths, lol.
