Description
Here's something I've been working on for a very, very long time. It's called a battle jacket! Also sometimes called a kutte or a cut-off, the concept originated with biker gangs and quickly found its way into the punk and heavy metal subcultures. Hardcore superfans of such bands sew, iron, or glue patches to denim or leather vests and jackets as a way to express their interest and love of the music. I hand sewed most of these on with the exception of the Black Sabbath and Manowar patches, which had crappy iron-on backing and I even had to add some superglue. Some people think battlejackets are a little passé, and even straight-up ugly. Of course, you don't need one of these to be considered a real fan, all that matters is that you dig the music!

Speaking of music, here's a little something for you to check out: a music playlist! It's full of my top favorite tracks from the bands that have a place on my jacket. I've purposefully not included live recordings or demos. It's all stuff from full-length albums! Clicking that link will send you to Spotify - just log in or sign up with your Facebook account, hit shuffle, and give it a listen! Not every band has their discographies on Spotify, and some bands have only uploaded specific albums, but in general this is a pretty full playlist, with 2,430 songs and clocking in at 202 hours.
