Description
I like the way you're not afraid,
You've got the world planned In your mind.
People say you cannot do,
But they don't know a friend like you.
When I had no one to call,
All the world had shut me down,
I showed up at your door so blue.
Thank God I had a friend like you.
Many times I'd gone without.
A home; a meal; a pair of shoes.
If you had three you'd give me two.
There ain't no other friend like you.
Joshua Radin - Friend Like You
I left out the verse about love and stuff because real men don't love they fix cars and chop down trees with their faces.
I'd seen this style floating about for a while now and I thought I'd give it a go.
I thought it would be easier than my style.
SPOILER ALERT!
It's not. =T
These BFFs belong to Moulinstart and stuff.
One day, I shall start drawing proper backgrounds... But that day is not today.

This is very beautiful! From first glance it looks simple, but it is complex in a way at befits the picture. The colors are vibrant, which I LOVE! I'm obsessed.

Dayummmm, Captain Haddock. Look at those legs!
I also like how you gave his sweater more structure. And his expression is priceless XD
Tim looks awfully pretty here, too. The way you drew his hair is nice and clear, me likey.
Last but not least: Snowy, he is so cute and fluffy! I wanna touch his little paws <3

As soon as I saw you called him Tim, I was like, 'Oh! A German faaaan!' And then I stalked your page to see if I was right. =I
Snowy will let you touch his little paws, but only for a swig of whisky. ;D

AH NOOO XD Alas, I revealed myself.
I will never get why they renamed him to Tim in German (especially because Tintin seems more like a family name), but I sorta like it ^^
I have no whisky, but I bet he'll settle for a nice bone ;D

It freaks me out, because I studied a little German at uni, and I'd have to refere to the comics as 'Tim und Struppi', and then I'd go home and accidentally call my brother Tim Tintin. XD

Wow, studying German must be pretty hard >__<
The German version is really endearing, I love the translation and how much thought was put into it.

It was. ALL THOSE CASES! Daaatiiiiiv. *hates*
I wanna read the German version now! How is it endearing?

KarniMolly In reply to XtreamCrazy [2011-08-25 01:16:36 +0000 UTC]
Well, there is the fact that Haddock and Tintin are referring to each other with the more formal "Sie" instead of the more personal "du", which is fitting considering the time they live in. But sometimes, when Haddock gets really worked up about Tintin being injured or gone missing, Haddock'd call him "du" accidentally <3
Or all the tiny little jokes they put in, the choice of words, and Haddock's curses and *sigh* it's really nice ^^

Can you give me an example of a scene wherein this happens??

KarniMolly In reply to XtreamCrazy [2011-08-25 01:31:21 +0000 UTC]
Okay, I didn't pay much attention to it when I was a kid, but lately I've seen two examples of it, one of them in the cartoon series.
I don't remember how Tintin went missing in "Temple of the Sun", but when Haddock found him, dressed up like a villager, he called him "du" in his relief ^^
The other situation was when Tintin got shot in "Destination Moon" and the Captain was visiting him in the hospital wing together with Mr.Baxter, he ranted how he'd beat up the guys who did this to Tintin, and during this speech Haddock called him "du".

*getting some hardcore TintinHaddock bromance vibes* ^__^
The scene in Destination Moon is one of my favourite moments in all the adventures. When the Captain says he'll stay with Tintin and Tintin says he doesn't have to and the Captain insists... <3
