Description Week 99: Era-Displaced Comic Characters

In response to the Twittered suggestion of having the 2012 Deathstroke battle the 1980 Teen Titans, I decided to deliver the unexpected. Having dropped all but one title after DC's "New 52" launch, I went to my local comic shop for research and was surprised to pick up a cover-priced copy of Deathstroke #2. After perusing a few pages of Slade Wilson effortlessly, yet brutally, tearing through a group of super-powered young mercenaries in a seedy bar, the obvious approach to this challenge would be to have this version of the Terminator grind the 1980 Titans into a heap of dismembered gore.

Instead, I decided to have the 1980 Titans comic affect the 2012 Deathstroke by restricting his actions under the Comics Code Authority. This was mainly because I am not really keen on drawing blood and gore (though I did deliver on a dismemberment — which would be Code-approved since it involved a robotic limb).

I’d still like to think my piece got the point across about “how times have changed.”
