Description
my two new OCs, Travis and Fio~they're soulmates! :3
Travis is 15 and the calmer one of both. He probably knows more about music than anyone else and most of the time he spends in music stores, where he also met Fio~ she's 14, kinda bubbly but still a little shy. she loves music too~ :'D
they both have almost the same taste in music, while Travis likes metal or grunge, and Fio listens to punk or pop rock more. they hang around together and talk about stuff, and make music :'D Travis plays drums and bass and sometimes guitar while Fio plays guitar or bass and sings :3
Here's the story of how they met if you want to read, but be warned, it's really REALLY cheesy xD
It was 13th October, a crisp, sunny fall day outside, while I was in "Spin It", my favourite music store. With "This Is War", the new release by 30 Seconds To Mars in my hands, I was just strolling through the store, looking at the other CDs, when suddenly I bumped into something.
"Ow!", I exclaimed as I stumbled back a step.
"Oh, sorry." I looked up. In front of me stood a boy, maybe fifteen or sixteen years old, with long black hair, a black-and-blue-striped scarf around his neck and with a silver peace sign hanging on a chain over his white shirt, holding his also black-and-blue headphones that slipped off his head when I'd hit him. The music was so loud I could clearly make out the music; it was probably something by Slipknot.
"It's okay", I muttered while flattening my dress. "Nice music, by the way", I added, smiling.
He smiled back. "Thanks. You like Slipknot?"
I shook my head. "I have an album by them but I'm not really a fan."
He chuckled. "You should really listen to them more. They're plain amazing. Too bad their bassist passed away."
"Hmm", I responded, then turned to the CDs again. Not that I didn't want to talk to the boy - he seemed to be a really nice conversation partner - I just felt a bit shy and didn't know what else to say. While trying to pick between Kings Of Leon's "Only By The Night" and Linkin Park's "A Thousand Suns", he remarked, "You seem to have a nice taste too."
I looked back up to him, and with another smile, said, "Thank you. What do you think?", I asked, pointing at the two CDs.
"Oh, Kings Of Leon. Linkin Park just aren't as good these days as they used to be."
I nodded and took the album out of the CD case (halt dieses Regal da wo die CDs drinstehen D8). "I'm Travis, by the way", the boy added.
"Fio", I responded. "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you, too!", he said, grinning. "Do you live here?"
I nodded. "Right around the corner. That's why I can spend so much time here. Listening to music and stuff, you know." Damn. Am I talking too much?
His frace brightened. "You really like music, don't you?"
I smiled, nodding. "Of course! Breaking Benjamin, 30 Seconds To Mars, A Perfect Circle, Billy Talent, Nirvana, Hollywood Undead... I could go on all day."
He chuckled again. "HU! They're my favourite band! How cool."
I grinned. "How about you?"
This time, he laughed. "Waaay too much. Why don't you just come over to my place so I can show you?" (RAAAAAAEP
I looked at him. "Now?"
He shrugged. "Why not? It's just a block away from here."
"I looked to the side, but then proceeded to the cash register to pay my CDs. The shopkeeper handed them to me in a green plastic bag when I gave him the 28 dollars, then I waved Travis to me. "Let's go, then."
Outside, a light wind was blowing, tugging at my white hair. He pointed to the left side of the street and I followed him when he started to walk. "I just moved here with my mom a week ago", he said.
"Why did you move away?"
He shrugged. "She broke up with her new husband."
"Oh", I said, "I'm sorry.
"It's okay", he responded, smiling lightly. "I didn't like him anyway." I thought it was a good idea to better not ask about his father.
"We're here", he announced when we stopped in front of a small but not the tiny-little-kind-of-small brick house. Travis pulled out a key from his right pocket and opened the door. Holding it, he said, "After you."
I chuckled and walked into the house. The hallway walls were painted dark red. There were two large boxes in a corner, but it was mostly really tidy, and I have to say, the little decorations were kinda cute. Like a fairytale hut. He nodded his head towards the staircase. "My room is upstairs."
I could hear his steps behind me when I walked up the stairs. "Where's your mom?", I asked.
"At work", he answered. "It's her first day in the local kindergarten."
We came past a half-opened door. I could see a drumkit and an electric guitar inside, but he already pushed me further through the hallway into the next room, his room. It had dark blue walls, but they were barely visible because the whole room was plastered with posters, cutouts and vinyls of various bands and musicians. In the left corner was a pretty messy bed with a small black laptop on it, at the foot of the bed a desk with some notebooks and sheets of paper on it. It really didn't looked like he'd just moved in. But what really caught my eye was the large sound system on the right wall with all those boxes and subwoofers and whatnot and the towers of CDs scattered around the whole room.
Travis took off his scarf and headphones, throwing them on the bed. "Haha, sorry for the mess!"
I chuckled and looked at the CDs. There were bands like 3 Doors Down, Oasis, Metallica, Slipknot, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hollywood Undead (of course), Rise Against, You Me At Six, Radiohead, Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, even some Beatles, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd, heck, probably every rock band of the last 100 years!
Travis plugged his iPod in the CD player and some punk song - I think, judging from the guitar sound, it was Green Day - came to an end, when right after that, "A Stranger" by A Perfect Circle started. I grinned. "How fitting."
He smiled. "Yeah. You like it?"
I nodded. "Of course", and started humming to Maynard James Keenan's voice.
"I can play it on the guitar", he continued. "Wanna hear?"
I smiled at him. "Sure!", I said, and he already dragged me into the music room we've just passed. Besides the drumkit and the guitar were another E-guitar, an acoustic guitar, a bass, a keyboard and even a saxophone, a xylophones, various flutes, heck, bongos! I sat down on the red couch at the end of the room while Travis grabbed the acoustic guitar, attached a capo to it and started playing.
When the intro passed, I started humming again but soon he signed me that I should sing, so I just did (even though I felt a bit uncomfortable with that, but meh). We did the whole song and in the end I said, "You're really good!"
He smiled but shook his head. "Not really. I play the drums or bass guitar more, haha."
I smiled back. "I play the guitar too, and a bit of bass. We should do music together sometime!"
He chuckled. "We should. You're really good at singing", he added.
"Thanks", I responded.
We sat there and talked and jammed until late afternoon when my mom called me on the phone and I had to go home. After that, we hung out at school and later at his place almost every day. He was the only one who truly shared my love for music, and I loved being with him.
I'm so happy I met him that day.
