Description
Since I drew Ajamu, of course had to draw Zira's other parent, Lesedi. In my TLK universe, Lesedi is the mother of Zira (with Ajamu ) as well as Tama and Malka (with Jabari ). She liberates Ajamu's pride and ends his reign of abuse by bravely traveling to the Pride Lands to seek help. Unfortunately, some damage cannot be undone, and Ajamu's manipulation turns Zira against her mother forever. If you want to know more, you can read my TLK Prequel Synopsis .

Lesedi is based on Malka's mother, seen at the end of the Simba's New Brother comic. I know everyone tends to make that character gold, but I noticed that (in the comic panel they share) she is closer in color to Sarabi than to the actual gold/yellow characters. That made me wonder if the artist actually intended for her to be tan-colored like Sarabi. Though admittedly, everyone is a bit sepia toned in that particular comic, so it's hard to say. But hey, it made her look more like Zira, so I decided to just roll with it. I also added Zira's ear stripe, eyebrow shape, and thick lashes to make them look more related, as well as make Lesedi look less like a generic background lioness.
