For 500 USD i would rather recommend a high end p&s like the canon powershot s3 is. it has alot of zoom and image stabilisation and can record movies. A SLR won't record movies or sound and you would need a few different lenses depending on what you want to shoot. My gf has a powershot s2 is and it takes some really awesome photos and videos.

The Camera Take normal batteries? ive been though those and really dont like them i like the ones you just adapt to the outlet and let it charge,they last alot longer, the normal batteries dont last very long, and i ahve having to keep on changing and changing them. if the camera wasnt powered with normal batteries it would be a good buy but i really hate the batterie option.

unfortunately not. you will have to check the review of each camera you are interested in for the conclusion. most cameras above the 350 dollar mark is most likely good

Nice, I am looking into buying another camera just for photoshoots,car shows,family,shows,etc...
But i want real good clear pictures and also want them to be taken fast but my main thing is quality and clearness, all the pictures i took where with a sony cybershot, its a good personal camera but i want somthing with more zoom...etc... what would you rec? i heard anything thats SLC is good enough,im looking at spending 500 and down.
