Now what I mean by this is that I am getting really really really REALLY REEEAAALLLLYYY tired of having to sift through pages and pages of nonsensical romance and pairings that will never happen just to find ONE god damned fic that actually sort of makes sense!I don't always want to read yaoi, yuri, about how your OC supposedly fell in love with your favorite bishi, or about how two characters completely abandon their personalities for each other.
There is some good romance where the characters act like themselves, I know, but finding it is just as hard as finding something relevant to canon.
And even if it is well written, sometimes I just want to read something else. ANYTHING else. Honestly. Characters can do other things besides fall in love and have sex! Its possible! Try it some time!
It's quite hard to sift through it all. Honestly... they should have a button that just filters it out if you want. I realize they have a list to choose a genre from, but that doesn't make it any easier to find something non-romantic.
I realize this is probably the most pointless thing ever to rant about, but I think about it every time I'm on that site so I figured I'd make a stamp.
Oh, and if anyone knows a better way to word this, as I was having trouble explaining it in short words, please tell me.

I can agree. While I don't mind romance, there are several fanfictions out there without romance that works just fine for me.Β
One example is a My Little Pony fanfiction called Cupcakes. It managed to be funny, heartwarming, and it brought a smile to my heart without any romance whatsoever.
I think more fanfics should be like that.

Romance Fan-Fiction are not my favourite. Because it is over-used and they exceuting it in a clichΓ© way.
I prefers Platonic Romance, it's more confortable and can be cute but still, I don't like shipping.
I prefer Friendship relationship, it is the most safest thing you can write in Fan-Fiction.
I first hate Fan-Fiction because of how Dirty-Minded fan can be. Smut, porno, yaoi/yuri,lemon/lime... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSES PEOPLE?!
I don't understand their psychology and obsession...

Oyyy I understand what you mean... I'm generally very active on fanfiction and oh God, the trouble I have to go through to find a sane fic. I'm mainly in the 39 clues and Noragami fandom and while Noragami archive has a lot of good fics, and there's a variety on the theme and the characters used, 39 clues is nothing like that. There are about 2800 39C-fics and at least 2000 of them are only centered around the same 2 characters, with nearly identical plot! It's just... Ugh! I write romance too,yes, but it has a PLOT before the romance! >3<

If it helps, I find that in some categories, searching for "Friendship" in the genre will net one an interesting collection of fiction with relatively little romance, since the writer's motive in choosing that genre tends to be to indicate that the story is NOT a pairing between the two main characters.
It's not a very good solution, but for now it's better than nothing.
