Simple walkthrough on selective colors.
It's fairly easy to use, but some people probably haven't used them before... It's just a color adjustment... things like color balances, curves, hue/saturation,etc can do this too... but selective colors is probably the easiest way to get some unique colorations that actually work with each other.

Probably the best tool for great icons and simple photomanipulations
