... but sometimes the rain is just as nice.this was super fun to draw and i'm really proud of it, her hind legs piss me off but thats really the only thing i dont like about it, the lighting was so fun ive always wanted to draw something with just a lantern as a light source but never got around to actualy doing it. i also love water fals and rain durp so really its just a bunch of different things ive been meaning to draw thrown into one pic and i love it <33

make sure the darks are really dark thats what gives it the effect, and try t keep the light source small

In effort to save time I'm going to bullet point so I can keep up with you:
First off, I like the accessories and lantern. :3
=The chest is too busty for the cat to be standing up like it is, I'd shrink it down to about half that size to accommodate for the cat.
=For the trees you wcould have done more shading, and for the water on the waterfall I'd suggest more of a flow with some highlights,
=I would suggest you move the right hind leg, in reality the cat would have fallen over because he seems rather top heavy.
=The tail kinda looks like it's been pinned on, when you draw the line for the backbone extend that line because the tail flows evenly off of it.
=I think this image would do better with more contrasting shadows because this is a one light source image, dimming down the BG may help as well.

the serval i referenced off was fat i tried to make it look less fat but that obviously turned into a train reck i agree with everythhing you have to say here i'll keep it in mind next time :3

i said domestic cats dont have chests its different based on the species thats like saying because snowy owls are white with black flecks all owls are white with black flecks
