Thank you! The concept is time and it's preciousness and my goal was to remind the viewer of that. I have had people misinterpret the baby as being her child and their interpretation was to spend time with their kids because life is short. Art is in the eye of the beholder so there really is no wrong way to view it. However for me the baby is actually her and a representation of her childhood. She is holding the baby up which for me represents a struggle to hold on to her youth as she grows older. The skull is representing the inevitable and the vines and flowers growing from beneath the skull are symbolic to life after death. And of course the hour glass represents time and the pattern within creates time slipping away. Thank you so much for asking!
